Tell us a little about yourself: Wel, Kurt will do the typing because my paws are a little big for the keyboard. I've been through a lot since I came to live with Kurt & Katleen. The first thing was when they came to take me home. On my first drive in a car, I ended up in a trafficjam. It was very hot outside and the car wasn't fitted with AC. I was beat when we arrived home.

After a few months we started going to an obedience school. I enjoyed that very much. A few months later we started to do shows. This I liked and disliked. Like because of the attention people give me and dislike because of the bath I had to get a few days in advance. After 2 years living in Lokeren, we moved to Moerbeke-Waas and this new home is really my liking. A year later Jazzy came to live with us, so now I have a compagnon. I fill my days with guarding the yard ofr the house (= laying around waiting untill something happens) and when nobody is looking I like to steal food, but that last thing you didn't hear from me.

Beginning of a new era
Now that I am allmost at the age of 9 years, all kinds off little illnesses started to surface. Even though the Komondor coat is one of it features, it can be an advantage or a disadvantage.One disadvantage is that when I experience skin irritation during wintertime it is not so evident to get washed. And because my owners were waiting for a few good weather days, it all went from bad to worse. The medicin that would reduce the itching didn't work as it should have, so I kept scratching. I ended up with scratching off between 30 & 40 cords in a day. At the end, my chest & frontquarters were cordless. Than Kurt and Katleen faced a difficult discision. Would they cut away the rest af the cords or not. They bit the bullet and cut the rest away. I'm not kidding! Allthough they didn't like to do it, they thought my health was more important then my appearance. Can you blame them, everybody knows I'm cudly and all.
After a 2hour cutting session, all I had left was ones cord on the middle of my back. This is a reminder of the beautifull long cords I used to have.The next day it was time for my bath. There was a time when it took them 3 hours to was me & up to 3 days to dry again. Now, I got washed in 30 minutes & it only took 1 hour to dry. What a change. I felt & feel like a puppy again.. But what can you expect when more then 3kg of hair are cut off & you only weigh 42kg.
