Tell us a little about yourself: Hello, As you
can read is my name Katleen Seels and I work as a fysiotherapist.
From the moment I became my own boss, I had to work long days which
is a part of the situation that got us to buy a dog. I was raised
with a dog in the house, i told him everything, good or bad, he
was allways there for me. So I think it was only a matter of time
that a dog entered our house. You can read all about how we ended
up with this breed on th ABOUT US
page I'm personally convinced that a Komondor is the
best breed for us.
Sport-loving
I used to be a very sport-loving girl. As a little girl I did ballet
and I loved it to. When I was a little older I started to play basketball.
After I quite playing compitition, I started coaching 6 to 10 year
olds at BBC lokeren. But my long workingdays made me give that up.
The only thing I do right now is playing ball once a week with "The
Mothers", this is a group of women from various ages playing
basketball for fun(originally it were only mothers of young players).
I have to admire them all because since the birth of Kyoko, I rarely
can make time, even for that 1 hour.
Scouts
During my education to become a fysiotherapist, I regularly rode
the bus with an old classmate and friend Els. She wondered if I
was interested in working with disabled children in a Scouting facility.
This group is called, AKABE. Because our accomodation wasn't suited
for the more fysically disabled persons, our group dealt with lightly
and medium cat. of the mentally disabled. I started to help out
and I loved it. I enjoyed working with these kid and young adults
and the fellow monitors were top to. But again, the amount of work
made me quit it, along with a collective change in management. All
the old monitors wanted to stay in touch and so the HELABA came
to life. It was this group that organised the weekend at the farm
where Artbel was born. So, a big thank you to Els, Ria and Eddy,
the organisers.
Today
Work consumes most of my time along with our little girl. My sweet
husband Kurt and our doggy's Artbel and Jazzy have to be content
with the rest of free time there is. You may see this coming but
I want to spent more time to the last three, fortunatly the summertime
is a more quiet period at work.
